Card Class:
Each card has a Job Class assigned to it, just check its weapon icon.

A Sword - Warrior
Dual Daggers - Ranger
Staff - Mage
3 Marks - Monk
You can see the different Job classes here along with their levels.
Try to equip an Ability card that matches your Job class. This will give you higher attack power and Break power. If you can't that's okay, you just don't get a boost in stats.

Also, rental cards that your Job class can't use can still be equipped but they will have a flashing warning symbol, as they can only be used if Rainbow Element Orbs are available.

Card Levels and Rarity:

There are 5 types of star rankings:

1-Star: Basic cards that will get the job done, but you won't master and learn any special abilities in the long run from them. However, they are great to use for Fusions, which I'll explain a little later.

2-Star: These cards also don't have any Auto Abilities, but they do come with 1 or 2 Expansion Skills. To get the most out of them upgrade them to 3 stars, or use them to enhance a 3-star card.

3-Star: The majority of players have 3- or 4-star cards and once you get pass a certain point in the game (without giving any spoilers), you will only receive 3- or 4-star cards. These cards have a maximum of 3 Expand Skills even if you upgrade them to 4 stars.

4-Star: These cards can have more Expand Skills depending on where you draw them from. They also have 28 Skill Seeds, which are used to level up your cards.

5-Star: This is the highest level and comes with the most amount of abilities and benefits. Ideally, you want to get your favorite card to this level. These cards have 6 Expand Skills and 4 Auto Abilities.
Makina & Rem (FF Type-0) is one rare 5-star card in FFMobius that allows you to customize two out of the 4 Auto Ability Skills and comes with 6 Expand Skills.
*The level cap for each card will vary depending on its rarity. Also, 1-star cards will max out the fastest.

Skill Seeds

These are the points that allow you to level up your cards.

Final Fantasy Mobius Fusion:

So what is Fusion? Simply put, it allows you to combine multiple cards together in order to enhance your base card. This allows you to level up your cards from 1- to 2-stars, 2- to 3-stars, and so on.

There is a special type of Fusion under the Card Fusion menu called "Revival Fusion", which allows you to raise Skill Seed and Ability levels by using Revival Tickets.
Mobius Final Fantasy Fusion and Skill Seeds
That pretty much covers everything for Fusion and Skill Seeds.

Expand Skills:

In order to unlock Expand Skills you have to meet the following requirements.

1. Ability level requirements:

Expand Skill 1: Ability level 2 or higher
Expand Skill 2: Ability level 3 or 4 or higher
Expand Skill 3: Ability level 4 or 6 or higher
Expand Skill 4: Ability level 5 or 8 or higher
Expand Skill 5: Ability level 6 or 10
Expand Skill 6: Ability level 6 or 10

2. The card's ability must be used in battle.

This may take a long time to do, however, if you want you can buy Expalight. It will unlock the 1st locked Expand Skill for any card.

Mobius Final Fantasy Cards 101 Summary:

Now that you have all the basics down pat for dealing with cards in Mobius Final Fantasy, it's time to get back to the game. Remember to try and level your cards up to at least 3- or 4-stars if possible and for those super rare 5-star cards it might take a while for them to be released into the global version.
